Gathering Together

HOW TO FIND US

Hampton Congregational Church, UCC, is located at 263 Main Street, approximately 1 mile north of the intersection of US Route 6 and Route 97, next to the Fletcher Memorial Library and across from the former Hampton General Store. There is parking on street, at the church, and at the library with stairs accessible to our parking lot. A ramp is available for accessibility.

OUR WORSHIP SERVICE

Our Sunday service begins at 10 AM when members and friends gather. Scripture is central to our worship which also includes music, visual art, prayer and times of silence. Children are a welcome and integral part of our community, participating actively as liturgy leaders or spontaneously as the Spirit moves them!  A wide variety of music is woven into our worship, including organ and choir, soloists and children, guitar and sometimes even drums. We believe in making “a joyful noise unto our God!”

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I ARRIVE?

One of our members will greet you, give you an order of service and orient you to our 18th century Meeting House/Sanctuary. Arriving 10-15 minutes before the service begins will make it easy to meet new friends, find a seat, locate the rest rooms or have a chance to ring the bell announcing the worship service!

WHAT ABOUT COMMUNION?

Communion is offered during worship on the first Sunday of each month and other special Sundays including Easter and Pentecost. Everyone is invited to share in this meal. “Come as you are. It does not matter where you have been or where you are going, it does not matter what you have done or what you have left undone… All you ever need to approach this table is a willingness to come forward, and you are invited to make it your table.” (UCC Norwell)  We provide a special communion workshop for children age 7 and older.

WHAT IS OFFERED FOR CHILDREN?

We offer church school for children age PreK and up, with our Youth gathering on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. Our children begin worship with their families and then attend Church School following the Children’s Message. A nursery facility is available near the Sunday school room.
